I am very happy to report that we have now completed two of our three GfA Road Shows, so far 13 clubs have sent representatives and we have had lots of sensible questions. The next Road Show is being held at Jaybee Gym Club, Wanstead Youth Centre on the 29 February from 1.30-3.00pm, no need to book on just turn up on the day.
Next Road Show
Saturday 29 February
13.30 - 15.00
Jaybee Gym Club,
Wanstead Youth Centre,
Elmcroft Avenue, London E11 2BD
We are collating any and all questions asked at the Road Shows and will send out a FAQ list for all to have once the last Road Show is done.
Also I am delighted to say that the GfA Technical Committee has gained another member today from the Road Show. Please do get in touch if you are keen to be an active member on the committee, ideally I would like a spread of clubs represented on the committee and all help is welcome.
The Grades 1-3 competition entry will open on the 19 February. Entries will close on the 18 March at 5pm.
Competition Weekend: 2 & 3 May at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
Thank you to those of you who pointed out a few errors on the new Grades COP particularly with regards to Vault. These have now been updated so please ensure you download the latest version which will be labelled as “London GfA F&V Code of Points 2020 V10- Kate edit 16th Feb 2020” and can be down loaded from https://www.british-gymnastics.org/london/gymnastics-for-all/documents or click here http://bit.ly/2UWJuVz
Regional Levels 1-4
The Regional Levels 1-4 competition entry will open on the 19 February. Entries will close on the 30 April at 5pm with aim for a quick turn around with the running order and work plan for competition. Only then can we provide information on which day and which weekend each gymnast will compete.
Competition Weekends: 13 & 14 June and 27 & 28 June at the Jean Brown Arena, Redbridge Sports Centre
Again, the COP has had a few updates so please ensure you download the latest version which will be labelled as updated as “London GfA F&V Code of Points 2020 V10- Kate edit 16th Feb 2020” and can be downloaded from https://www.british-gymnastics.org/london/gymnastics-for-all/documents or click here http://bit.ly/2UWJuVz
For Regional Levels 1-4, we recognise that this is going to be little challenging this year due to programme changes, but as with the gymnasts and coaches if judges can hold both weekends in June for the time being. Once we have numbers we can look at where and when we will need our judges. You can find judge to gymnast ratios in the 2020 GfA Floor & Vault programme rules which can be downloaded here https://www.british-gymnastics.org/london/gymnastics-for-all/documents
Unfortunately, due to logistical issues with dates and venues, all previously advertised February coaching clinics will now take place over March and April.
We will advise of the revised dates soon.
A new communications e-mail has been set up for GfA F&V events, please send any queries about any of our GfA events directly to this e-mail from now on firstname.lastname@example.org
