West London Gymnast Stars At Rhythmic World Championships


West London Gymnastic’s Marfa Ekimova had a great debut at the recent 2021 Rhythmic World Championships in Kitakyushu, Japan finishing in 41st Place.

On day one of her individual qualifying round, Marfa competed with the hoop and ball, posting scores of 19.350 for hoop and 17.800 with the ball.  On the second day Marfa produced her highest scoring routine of her debut World Championships, totalling 19.875 with her favourite apparatus, the clubs. She finished her competition with the ribbon, scoring 11.600 securing her spot in the World’s top 50 Rhythmic Gymnasts. 

Marfa said “It’s been an amazing experience.  I will never forget my first world Championships.  It was an honour to share the same carpet with the world’s best gymnasts.  At first I was a little nervous but then I just tried to enjoy the moment”.
