Ahead of the 2016 British Gymnastics Championships, taking place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool this weekend (8th - 10th April), our team has been running free gymnastics taster session around the city at various leisure centres.

We have been working with Liverpool City Council over the past 12 months to increase gymnastics opportunities across the city to help more young people to take part and enjoy the sport.

Liverpool has a rich history in gymnastics and all of our major championships currently take place in the city.

Gymnastics isn’t just one sport, it’s a whole range of different types or ‘disciplines’, which offers participants a fantastic choice of options. It is a spectacular sport to watch, and it’s even better taking part! It is an inspiring sport that can be enjoyed by everybody, regardless of age, gender or ability.

Tickets for our 2016 Artistic Gymnastics British Championships are now only available on the Friday (8th) and Sunday (10th), with the Saturday (9th) being completely sold out. Last minute tickets can be purchased at here.

With the Olympic Games taking place later this year, this will be the final chance to catch all of Britain’s gymnastics stars in action on home soil as part of their road to Rio!

In a major boost for the sport the BBC will be broadcasting live coverage from the Championships at 3pm on Sunday 10th, the last day of the event, which involves the apparatus finals of the women’s and men’s senior competitions.

If you or anyone you know is interested in potentially getting involved in gymnastics, we have a bespoke website to help you Discover Gymnastics at
