Conor Sawenko

Age: 20

What is your proudest moment?

My proudest moment as a gymnast is winning the World age group Championships in 2012 and 2014, and standing on the podium listening to the national anthem.

Why do you enjoy your discipline?

I love my discipline because it allows you to show so much strength and allows you to express yourself through emotion and choreography while competing.

One thing that people don’t know about you

One thing people might not know about me is that I'm a quarter Ukrainian, hence my surname.

What is your aim for the World Games?

My aim for the World Games is to get on the podium.

Winning triple gold at the junior European Championships

Why do you enjoy your discipline?

Every day is different and in the men’s four you get to really help and motivate each other

One thing that people don’t know about you...

At the age of 11 I retired thinking the sport wasn’t for me but 6 months later I realised nothing compared to acro!

What is your aim for the World Games?

For clean routines, to make our coach proud and to improve on our World Championship bronze.

Adam Upcott

Age: 17

What is your proudest moment?

My proudest moment as a gymnast was probably winning triple gold at the junior 2015 European Championships in Germany.

Why do you enjoy your discipline?

I love my discipline because unlike other gymnastic disciplines I get to work very close as a team of four. Working together allows us to motivate each other and push through the rough patches!

One thing that people don’t know about you...

One thing people might not know about me is that I am the third member of my family to represent GB at the World Games. Edward competed in 2009 and Alice in 2013.

What is your aim for the World Games?

My aim for World Games is to claim the gold medal. In our first year at senior we managed to get a bronze medal at the 2016 World Championships in China, now in our second year we want to improve that result.
