We are delighted to announce a new partnership with Parkwood Leisure which increases the opportunities for children to take part in gymnastics across the country.
Parkwood Leisure will deliver gymnastics in 12 sites by the end of 2018 and anticipate that the scheme will be available at 40 sites across the UK by the end of 2019. The partnership will provide greater opportunities for children between the ages of 3-11 to take part in recreational gymnastics with enhanced facilities and more qualified gymnastics instructors.
To ensure the quality of experience for all parties, we will support Parkwood Leisure with training, technical knowledge and guidance during the set-up - a similar support package to the one offered to our club network.
Dave Marshall, Participation Director at British Gymnastics, said: “It is fantastic to have Parkwood Leisure as an official delivery partner. We are both passionate about ensuring high-quality, fun-fuelled experiences for all participants. Parkwood Leisure are committed to giving budding gymnasts who are keen to get started an exciting opportunity to get involved."
Peter Fitzboydon, Managing Director at Parkwood Leisure, comments: “There are currently one million children on waiting lists wanting to join gymnastics activities across the UK. As a leisure provider, we’re in a great position to support this level of demand for gymnastics. This new partnership with British Gymnastics allows us to offer young children the opportunity to experience and enjoy the benefits of gymnastics.”
Leisure sector partnerships are just one of the ways our organisation is growing capacity. Partners in the leisure sector focus on recreational gymnastics. This initiative runs in parallel to the work we do to grow, develop and support our registered clubs.
