Welcome to the Northern Ireland Awards 2021.
The Northern Ireland Awards provide an annual opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of our members and the priceless contribution they make to gymnastics within Northern Ireland.
2020 has been a turbulent year for all of us and the sport of gymnastics has very much felt the effect of the ongoing Coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic. We believe however that the people who have contributed to great things in your club still deserve to be recognised for the work that they have done and arguably this year, the recognition is deserved more than ever as we have all had to adjust and do things differently. The inclusion of the hard work demonstrated and innovation shown throughout the last year as a result of the impact of club closures is encouraged in your nominations.
As a result of the current situation and likelihood that mass social gatherings will not be permitted in March 2021, we have had to adjust how we celebrate the success of our award winners. The 2021 Awards will therefore be presented to the winners at their club venues in March 2021 if local restrictions at the time allow for it and photographs of the ceremony will then be shared on our social media channels and website.
This is your opportunity to nominate that special person or club that you feel deserves one of the prestigious awards.
Nominations are open from Monday 16th November and will close on Friday 18th December 2020 at 5pm.
More information can be found in the Nomination Pack which can be downloaded here.
Although the awards are being presented in 2021, nominations should recognise activity that has taken place in 2020 and because of the limited gymnastics activity that has been allowed to take place this year, the eligibility period has been extended to 1st September 2019 – 31st December 2020.
