We are delighted the Northern Ireland (NI) Executive has today confirmed that gymnastics clubs in Northern Ireland can reopen their doors on Friday 17th July.
This is hugely positive news for our community and we are excited to see our clubs reopen their doors and welcome back gymnasts next week.
We will provide further guidance for all of our clubs based on what the NI Executive publish. Once we have reviewed any information we're provided in more detail we will advise on what this means for our members. Where your club is based in a school or leisure centre, the timescales for reopening will be led by the opening date of that facility. We are working with the various operators, highlighting the measures we are putting in place to ensure safety and modifications to activity, meet government guidelines.
For clubs looking for further support we recommend our Step Forward Area where we have uploaded several useful resources. These include a video on how to plan and prepare your gymnastics sessions with social distancing in mind, a Step Forward Toolkit with cleaning guidance, health and safety information and a risk assessment template, plus much more.
Every British Gymnastics registered club is also entitled to a free COVID-19 resource pack that includes ‘gymnast wait here’ floor spots, socials distancing and hygiene posters and information to share with parents. This can be ordered from our Marketing Hub. Find out more.
We wish every club all the best with their preparations. For clubs who have any immediate queries, our Customer Support team is here to help
