The key message for the day is; “Create, Connect and Share Respect: a better internet starts with you”

As you may or may not be aware UK Safer Internet Centre run an annual initiative to raise awareness of using social media safely. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to promote across our clubs and educate safe use by all. The initiative has a great deal of resources for schools, parents and other organisations.

British Gymnastics would like to support the initiative, to promote awareness around the subject to increase knowledge and skills in using social media in an appropriate manner. Our professional use and educating everyone in the use of social media is vital to ensure we are effectively safeguarding our children.

This year the Safer Internet Day falls on Tuesday 6th February there is an opportunity to register support this will provide resources for parents, coaches, ’club staff and gymnasts alike. The resources are designed to provide guidance and ways to challenge the poor use of social media.
