What better way to start the year than to shine a spotlight on the amazing Leadership Academy of Canterbury Gymnastics Club, who’s young leaders have achieved an incredible amount throughout 2019 and one was even nominated as National Young Volunteer of the Year at this year’s National Awards!
In the past year, Canterbury Gymnastics Club’s Leadership Academy and its incredible young leaders have been up to an enormous amount of amazing things. Not only did they complete all three Intro To… courses at their club and attend the South East Regional Day, but they also gave up their time to volunteer at both GymFusion Guildford and the Championship Series, at which they got stuck into every role that came their way. It’s safe to say they’ve been involved in some amazing opportunities in 2019 and we are excited to see what 2020 brings for these talented young individuals.
More recently, one of Canterbury’s young leaders, was nominated and shortlisted for the National Young Volunteer of the Year award at British Gymnastics’ National Awards which took place at the Telford International Centre on Saturday the 25th January. At only 11 years-old, Josie regularly gives up to 6 hours a week of her time to support the younger gymnasts in her club, with a flair for choreography she has also choreographed over 20 routines in the past year! Certainly, a worthy nominee and we are all very excited to see Josie grow and thrive in the gymnastics environment over the next couple of years.
Congratulations to all the young leaders at Canterbury Gymnastics Club, including Josie. Good luck with all your ventures in 2020!
