On Saturday, teams of up to 12 gymnasts competed for British titles, with Sunday seeing teams with up to six gymnasts competing as part of the Micro Team Challenge competition.
Leatherhead & Dorking triumphed in the senior women’s event thanks to a dominant display across the apparatus. They scored 19.500 on floor, before topping the scoring on trampet with 14.750 and also on the tumble track with 15.350 to give them a total of 49.200.
Hawth senior men’s team were named as champions too, thanks to three excellent routines, but it was their floor routine that really stood out. They scored 21.400 on that piece, more than two marks ahead of their challengers. Added to 16.950 on trampet and 18.000 on the tumble track, their total of 56.350 couldn’t be beaten.
In the junior competitions, Hawth (52.900) came out on top in the mixed event, with Leatherhead & Dorking (48.600) taking home gold in the junior women’s.
The opening competition on Sunday was the primary team challenge with several groups taking part. It was competitive until the end, but Leatherhead & Dorking continued their fine weekend by taking gold with a total of 45.000 for their three routines.
