The 2021 Acrobatic Gymnastics British Championships were a huge success with non-stop spectacular routines on display at Fenton Manor.

Due to the extended competition break brought about through Covid-19, the weekend saw the British Championships combined with the NDP, IDP, Youth and Disability events creating a two-day celebration of acrobatic gymnastics.

Another change saw the British Championship age groups altered in line with the FIG’s guidance to support a return to competition so the 11-17, 12-19 and 13-20 categories took place alongside the senior events.

Natasha Hutchinson of King Edmund being crown the senior mixed pair British Champions with a score of 28.360 with Deerness Women’s Group Cara Winship, Dena Kirk and Isobel Gosling took the senior women’s title scoring 22.980.

In the 13-20 age groups, King Edmunds women’s pair Chloe Hoggins and Polly Maggs (23.550) pipping Horsham’s Ella Dronfield and Naima Hyder to gold in that category.

The 12-19 age groups saw the men’s group Tiger Acrobatic men’s pair taking top spot from Honiton duo Matthew Beviss and Oscar Felice (22.936).  Honiton again saw success in the mixed pair 12-19 with Reece Cutler and Sky Shute taking gold (22.606).

11-17 mixed pair gold was won by Kernow Academy’s Bailey Copeland and Bella Goldring (25.130) with Joseph Carney and Prescilla Sanchez of Birkenhead in silver (24.700). Southampton’s women’s group Libby Batstone, Alys Morgan and Abigail Smithson (26.800) took gold, with Bethany Butterfield, Georgia Robinson and Lucy Vause of Wakefield in silver (26.030) and Kernow’s Pheobe Blackmore, Jemima Burt and Daisy Parfitt taking the bronze medal scoring 25.460.
