Following discussions with British Gymnastics and English Gymnastics, we have reluctantly decided that all further West Midlands events will be cancelled up to the end of 2020.
The UK Government and British Gymnastics have announced that clubs can open their doors as of 25th.
In line with this announcement, the UK Government has published the following: guidance for people who work in grassroots sport and gym/leisure facilities.
In this document, they have provided information on how to work, operate and participate in sport and leisure activities safely whilst minimising the risk of spreading COVID-19. The document also gives practical considerations on how this can be applied in a gym/leisure facility or other areas used for sport.
As clubs vary greatly by size, in terms of members and space, it is important to note that the guidance may need to be adapted to suit each club on an individual basis. Considerations made by clubs should include the number of participants taking part in a session in order to maintain appropriate social distancing, staggering arrival and leaving times to avoid congestion and allowing for breaks to give time for equipment to be cleaned/sanitised.
British Gymnastics will continue to provide further guidance for all of clubs based on what the UK Government publishes in the future, so please keep an eye on the British Gymnastics website for updates, in particular their Step Forward Plan announcements.
Annual Regional Gymnast Levy waived for 2020/21.
As previously announced, this is to confirm that it has been agreed that the West Midlands Gymnast Levy will be waived for the forthcoming year (2020/21)
Best wishes to all. Stay safe.
