British Gymnastics is pleased to announce that we are seeking to recruit the first cohort for our new High Performance Coach Development Programme. The programme aims to provide coaches with the necessary resources to maximise their competitive potential and achieve significant international results through a clear, focussed and sustainable leadership intervention.

The programme is targeted at existing High Performance coaches identified and endorsed by the Head Coach or Head of Disciplines as potential National Coaches and/or Personal Coaches with gymnasts eligible to represent Great Britain in Rio and beyond, as well as aspiring young coaches willing to improve their competence in pursue of excellence and mastery. The programme will span over a period of 10 months, including three main intervention weekends and will see an intake of coaches across disciplines.

The programme, led by Adrian Stan – High Performance Coach Development Manager, aims to implement a Behaviour Based Coaching model and adopt the “athlete-centred-coaching” philosophy with the UK Sport Olympic mission’s priorities at heart. Coaches will be encouraged to incorporate best practices from a range of disciplines, challenge current practice and provide a platform to experiment and innovate.

Coaches who are interested in a place on this course are required to read the HPCDP information pack and complete the application form.

Applications are now being accepted and will close on the 21st August 2013.
