A further 12 gymnastics clubs have benefitted from the recently announced 4th round of Inspired Facilities funding. The clubs, spread over ten regions, received a total of £550,395 to help with a diverse range of facility improvements from new equipment to refurbishment and expansion projects.

Amongst the clubs receiving this latest round of funding is Warrington Gymnastics Club who secured £50,000 to help relocate and upgrade their facilities and Darlington Gymnastics Club which has been awarded £50,000 to help create a new headquarters in a shared facility with wheeled sports group, 4 Motion.

Inspired Facilities is focused on making it easier for local community and volunteer groups to improve and refurbish sports clubs or transform non-sporting venues into modern grassroots sport facilities. Part of Places People Play, Sport England’s programme to deliver a London 2012 legacy of increased mass participation in sport, it was recently announced that Sport England is to invest £40 million to extend the funding to 2017 .

The next round of Inspired Facility funding opens on the 21st October with clubs encouraged to contact their British Gymnastics Club Development Coordinator for support in putting together applications.
