Things to note

This training is mandatory for all those working with children and young people in a club registered with Scottish Gymnastics.

 1.    Online module 1 (through Sportscotland Brightspace) (approx 30-45 minutes)

This will give you a basic introduction to theory, knowledge and practice that underpins child wellbeing & protection in gymnastics.
You will receive an email prior to the zoom session from d2lsupport@learninginsport.brightspace.com. This email may be found in your junk mail.  You will have a username in the email, and you will need to set up a password to use the online learning platform.

Please note: You must complete this prior to attending the zoom session. The tutor will have access to Brightspace and will see if you have completed the online module prior to the zoom tutor delivery. 

2.    Zoom tutor delivery (3 hour workshop)

This will enable candidates to:

• Build on learning gained in module 1
• Be introduced to the Spectrum of Practice and use it to evaluate and respond to common coaching scenarios
• Be introduced to the factors that create a culture of poor practice
• Identify barriers to disclosure and reasons of
• Cover the process for responding to concerns
• Put the responding to concerns process into practice
• Understand your Roles and Responsibilities in your Gymnastics Club
   

You will also be introduced to the SG Code of Practice for Coaches & Officials, which is designed to help protect you as a coach/helper working with children.

Candidates must complete both the online module and the zoom tutor delivery to gain their qualification.  If you do not complete the online module and we need to continually contact you to remind you to complete this, then an administration fee of £5 will be incurred.

The zoom link will be sent to you 48 hours prior to the delivery date.

3.    Online post workshop feedback

The link will be given to you by the tutor

• This award is valid for 3 years from date of attendance
