Double Mini Trampoline - Club Coach Add on Module

This course will qualify you to be a coach for double mini-trampoline gymnastics.

DMT is an exciting discipline to coach. Participants perform amazing somersaults, twists, and jumps. You get to work with male and female participants and mixed age groups. You will learn about routine construction and good coaching practice. You can also help participants develop the skills required to compete in exciting entry-level competitions. 

You will already have completed a UKCC Level 2 Certificate in one of the following gymnastics disciplines, teamgym; trampoline; acrobatics; tumbling; general; men’s artistic or women’s artistic.

Who is this Aimed at:

Level 2 coaches who wish to deliver double mini trampoline within their sessions. See pre- requisites/transfer matrix for further details.

What To Expect:

An informative course that develops all aspects of coaching, including discipline specific practical experience and knowledge.

Delivery Method:

12 hours – classroom and practical based.

Do I Need To Bring Participants:

Days 1 and 2 require participants

Do I Need To Find A Mentor:

No, but we do recommend using a suitably qualified mentor within your club to help you develop your sport specific/common core knowledge prior and post course

Price:

£204 for BG members (£307 for non-BG members)

Course costs include the delivery and initial assessment; any further assessments will incur additional charges.

Learner must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the course

Sport Specific Theory Module:

  • Biomechanics
  • Identification and development of talent
  • Routine construction and tariffing
  • Good coaching practice

Practical Delivery:

  • Run up and hurdle onto the DMT
  • Shapes - tuck, pike and straddle jumps
  • Twists - ½ twist, full twist
  • Backwards somersaults - single backwards somersault tucked, piked and straight
  • Forwards somersaults - single forwards somersault tucked, piked and straight
  • Somersaults with twists - the teaching of forwards and backwards somersaults with ½ twist using the principles of aerial and contact twisting
  • Linking skills to create a competition pass
  • Linking the skills above without intermediate jumps

Assessment Method:

Practical – including delivering a session on course.

How Long Until I Am Fully Qualified:

Once you have completed the course date.

When Is My Assessment:

On day two of the course.
