Test2 - British Gymnastics
To progress your application to travel overseas with gymnasts from your club, please complete the checklist, with the appropriate documents, so that the we can approve your arrangements.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Your British Gymnastics Club Membership is not Travel Insurance.  It will not cover you for incidents such as repatriation, hospital stays, treatment and medication, lost luggage or delays.

Therefore, please ensure that each individual in the party has relevant travel insurance – and that it specifically provides cover for Gymnastics/Trampolining whilst abroad.  This can be either a Group Travel Insurance Policy that you arrange, or each individual can insure themselves and give you the policy reference number.

The travel insurance must provide you all with cover for the whole trip – so include the day of departure and day of return travel – and for doing Gymnastics or Trampolining whilst overseas.

British Gymnastics cannot recommend a travel insurance provider to you but our insurers WDenis do provide travel insurance should you wish to contact them as well as other providers.

OVERNIGHT STAYS

Legislation requires that when a club takes a gymnast(s) under the age of 18 years on a journey involving an overnight stay, the club must ensure that there is a designated trained person responsible for child protection on the trip.

To adhere to the CPSU child protection standards this person must not be related to, or in a relationship with, the coach attending the trip. The training for the designated person should be the British Gymnastics Safeguarding and Protecting Children Awareness Course or a British Gymnastics approved equivalent.

People who can be the designated person are:
•    Judges
•    Parent/volunteer
•    Share a designated person with another club who are also attending
•    NB: A Coach cannot be the designated Person if they are using their Coaching Award or related to the travelling Coach

All designated officers must also have current British Gymnastics membership, British Gymnastics DBS and Safeguarding Award in place prior to the trip taking place.

Below you’ll find a Check List to help guide you through what’s required by British Gymnastics to approve your request for Overseas Travel.

Form must be completed at least four weeks prior to your trip – this way you can be sure that all your insurance and documentation is in place in good time.
