Profile

Courtney is an extremely powerful gymnast and excels particularly on the rings. He was part of the gold medal winning teams at the 2012 Junior European Championships and the 2013 Australian Youth Olympic Festival proving that he is a key team member as well as an apparatus specialist. At the 2014 World Championships, Courtney finished 6th in the rings final, and has since won the British rings title in each year he has competed. At the 2016 European Championships, he was part of the team that won silver, and then one year later at the 2017 European Championships in Cluj, Romania, Courtney claimed his first individual major medal, producing a brilliant performance to take silver. At the 2017 World Championships, Courtney made the rings final, finishing 8th in a quality field.
