James Higgins in the World Final

British Trampoline Champion James Higgins qualified for the Men’s Final of the World Championships in Trampoline, Double Mini Trampoline and Tumbling, which started in St Petersburg, Russia, Wednesday, 11 November 2009.
With 80 men competing in the Qualification round highlighted by the domination of the Chinese (four competitors in the top five positions, and Olympic Bronze medallist Dong Dong leading the field with 74.300), Higgins scored 70.00pts to reach Final on Friday.
"This was a fantastic performance from James. We are all delighted to have a representative in the Individual finals. It is important Great Britain is represented and making a mark on the world stage, and we hope this will be the catalyst for even more success leading into London 2012.

With a zero start, where everyone starts afresh, James has nothing to lose and everything to gain when he competes in Friday's final",
said Tim Jones, Olympic Performance Director of British Gymnastics.
British Women’s Champion Kat Driscoll took 18th place in the Qualifications (64.800), with the Beijing Olympic Champion HE Wenna in first position, 70.200, followed by her teammates HUANG Shanshan and Zhong Xingping.
