The 2010 World Age Group medallists Chloe Farrance and Sebastian De Verteuil achieved an outstanding success in their first Senior International event, the Aerobic World Cup in Aix-les-Bain, France on Sunday, 27 February 2011.
Chloe, who reached the Final with sixth best result in the Qualifications, presented an even stronger performance on Sunday to end just a step from the medals, in fourth place (19.55).
Sebastian also improved from Saturday’s competition, when he was seventh, to move into 6th position in the final ranking (20.05).
In the end, as if to prove that their success in the Individual events was not achieved by chance, Chloe and Seb placed in sixth in the Pair’s event (18.30).
Kerry Scotts, their coach at Bulmersh AC said; "I feel our gymnast's have made a good first impression on the world stage at Senior level. However, we have lots to improve on but this has definitely been a very promising start".
Steve Green, Performance Director said; "This has been a truly landmark day for British Aerobic Gymnastics and a result for the whole Aerobic fraternity".
Sebastian’s father John De Verteuil: "This was an awe inspiring first Senior international event. I was so proud of how our gymnast's applied themselves to such a high standard".
Trina Farrance, mother of Chloe commented; "It is always difficult to be at home when your child is competing abroad. I was at the Alex Strachen Cup and it was touching to see the bubbling excitement across the whole Aerobic community and have so many people, from all clubs, supporting them and waiting on their results. I am a very happy parent, indeed!"
The Chinese athletes swept the floor in Aix-les-Bains winning every category in the event, which will be remembered with the high level of competition and excellent organisation.
