Welsh Gymnastics has appointed Rhian Gibson as the new Chief Executive Officer. Rhian is the former Director of Commissioning at S4C, Deputy Head of News and Current Affairs BBC Wales and has also worked in BBC Wales Sport.
Raised on the Isle of Anglesey, Rhian was a keen gymnast in her youth and a member of Llangefni and Bangor gymnastics clubs and has maintained a strong interest and admiration for the sport.
"The Welsh Gymnastics board of directors were impressed by Rhian's track-record in delivering high-profile projects in pressured environments," said Helen Phillips Chair of Welsh Gymnastics,"with this leadership I have no doubt that all staff members will continue to be enabled to fulfil the aspirations of Welsh Gymnastics effectively."
The board felt that her obvious passion for gymnastics coupled with her experience of high level management, strategic and financial competence, made her the perfect candidate for the job.
