Safeguarding Training Requirements for National and International British Gymnastics Competitions

As of the 1st January 2013, all coaches and judges taking part in any British Gymnastics National or International competition will be required to hold up to date BG Recognised Safeguarding and Protecting Children training. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in you not being permitted to enter the competition as a judge or coach.

If you are a coach or judge that will be being entered in a British Gymnastics National or International competition in 2013; to avoid disappointment, please ensure that you fulfil the Safeguarding Training requirements outlined above.

The following Safeguarding Training is recognised by BG

  • LSCB Safeguarding
  • FA Safeguarding
  • Sports Coach UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children. Please click here for scUK Safeguarding Training
  • NHS Safeguarding
  • Specific professional prior learning (Social Worker, Teacher, Police Officer)
  • Scottish Gymnastics Safeguarding training
  • Sport Northern Ireland/CPSU Safeguarding training

Please note that BG only excepts the above training courses and all training courses must be a minimum of 3 hours.

Please note BG does not except any E-Learning Safeguarding Training courses.
