Laura Halford receives OCS Award (2007)

winner_061.jpg Eleven year-old rhythmic gymnast Laura Halford from Cricklade received a top sporting award from TV presenter Josie D’Arby at the OCS Young Sports Person Awards presented by Claire Balding, TV presenter and sports journalist at the Brit Oval.

Laura received a cheque for £500 and was named Young Star of the prestigious Young Sports Person Awards, now in the tenth year of celebrating sporting achievement and supporting young athletes across the UK.

Laura is currently the 2006 British under-10 rhythmic champion winning the overall title and both individual apparatus titles. She has also just won the 2007 national open titles for both under-11 rope and ball, as well as competing jointly to win medals at the national duets and trios held earlier this year.
