Release your freedom with FreeG

British Gymnastics is set to officially launch freestyle gymnastics under a new name - FreeG.

FreeG is the new brand created for the dynamic activity of freestyle gymnastics, which fuses traditional gymnastic and acrobatic tricks, with kicks and leaps made famous through martial arts and brought to worldwide attention by festival performers and stunt actors.

FreeG has been designed by British Gymnastics to help clubs and leisure centres retain gymnasts within the sport. FreeG captures the power and explosive nature of freestyle activities in sport and brings them indoors. Performed on a range of purpose built equipment with associated training techniques, FreeG takes freestyle trick learning to a whole new level.

On the 23rd July, FreeG will be officially launched at the City of Preston Gymnastics Club. Local and national media are set to attend the day to find out more about this expressive and fast growing activity. Local gymnasts from the club will take part in demonstrations where Olympic and European medallist Max Whitlock will join the launch to share his view on what makes FreeG the most exciting gymnastics activity around.

British Gymnastics has created a new micro site dedicated to the promotion of FreeG. The site includes all you need to know about this exciting new Gymnastics for All activity. Browse the site to find your local freestyle club, watch trick tutorial videos and interact with others on the FreeG twitter wall @FreeGFreedom.

FreeG is an expressive and fast growing activity that requires keen and motivated coaches to provide a fun and safe movement experience. Why not extend your coaching expertise to include the skills and know-how to lead FreeG sessions and add a new and fresh activity to your club? Coach education opportunities (in the form of freestyle add-on modules/courses)  are available now to assist those interested in leading this exciting new activity.
