Team GB’s Nathan Bailey has finished 9th in the men’s Olympic gymnastics trampoline competition with a score of 106.795.
Although he just missed out on the final by one place, in his first Olympic Games at just 23 years old, Nathan achieved his aim of making the top 10 and also scored a personal best for his difficult voluntary routine.
The gold eventually went to Uladzislau Hancharou from Belarus (61.745) with Dong Dong from China taking silver (60.535) and teammate Gao Lei the bronze (60.175).
Nathan Bailey: “I don’t think I’ve got a word that truly sums up what it’s like out there. The sheer number of people, the crowd going crazy and to be in such a competitive field for my first games it was just an amazing experience out there.
Obviously little bit gutting finishing one place out of the final but I’m still happy I came away in the top 10, that was my aim coming in.”

Olympic gymnastics action continues tomorrow as we see Max Whitlock and Kristian Thomas in the men’s floor final and Max and Louis Smith in the men’s pommel horse final. Action starts from 6pm UK time.
