After an exciting 2016 we can’t wait to see what’s in store this year. With lots of gymnastics events taking place throughout 2017, we take you through some of the major British and International events.
First up, our men’s and women’s artistic gymnasts have a busy schedule with their British Championships taking place at Echo Arena in Liverpool from the 24th – 26th March. Following on from this they have a World Cup on home soil at the O2 Arena in London on the 8th April and then go on to the European Championships in Cluj-Napoca, Romania from the 19th – 23rd April.
Moving through May, it’s then the Rhythmic European Championships from the 19th – 21st in Budapest, Hungary.
If you thought the summer was going to be a little quieter this time around, then think again! The World Games take place from the 20th – 30th July in Wrocklaw, Poland. It’s dubbed as the Olympic Games for non-Olympic sports and includes trampoline, tumbling, DMT, aerobics, acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics.
At the same time (26th – 30th July) the Gymnastics for All, World Gym for Life Challenge kicks off in Vestfold, Norway and our spectacular British Gymnastics Championship Series (27th – 30th July) takes place at Echo Arena in Liverpool with the disciplines of aerobics, rhythmic, acrobatics and TeamGym as well as the Gym for Life Challenge and the Gala Evening.
As we enter August, our adult gymnasts are in action on the 5th – 6th for the Adult Gymnastics British Championships taking place at Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire, with the summer’s events being rounded off with the Rhythmic World Championships from the 31st Aug – 3rd September in Pesaro, Italy.
There’s no slowing down in September, with the Aerobic European Championships taking place from 22nd – 24th Sept in Ancona, Italy and the very same weekend, the Trampoline, Tumbling and Double-Mini Trampoline British Championships taking place at Echo Arena Liverpool.
The best men’s and women’s artistic gymnasts in the world then come together in Montreal, Canada from the 2nd – 8th October for the World Championships, with Europe’s finest acrobatic gymnasts giving their all at the European Championships from the 19th – 22nd October in Rzeszow, Poland.
To finish off the year our trampoline, tumbling and DMT gymnasts compete in the World Championships from the 9th – 12th November in Sofia, Bulgaria.
