The 2018 Artistic English Championships took place from the 9th – 11th February in Redbridge.
Olympic floor bronze medallist, Amy Tinkler (South Essex) topped the women’s rankings with an overall score of 54.600. She looked in great form, also taking the vault (14.350av) and uneven bar (13.700) titles.
Claudia Fragapane (Bristol Hawks) took silver in the women’s all-around just 0.2 behind Amy with 54.400 and ahead of East London’s Georgia-Mae Fenton, who completed the podium in third with 53.050. Claudia took the floor title with an impressive routine for 13.500 with Georgia-Mae taking the beam crown with 13.800.
In the men’s competition, James Hall from Pegasus successfully defended his title to take all-around gold with 84.150. James also took high bar gold with 14.450. Rising star Dom Cunningham from the City of Birmingham was hot on James’s heels, taking the all-around silver with 84.000. Dom also won the floor (14.500) and vault (14.425av) golds. South Essex’ Brinn Bevan claimed the all-around bronze with 80.400.
