The Academy once again proved their strength with a comprehensive victory for the club to crown them the senior Adrian Stan British team champions. The event, which took place at Surrey Sports Park, saw over 230 gymnasts from across Great Britain in action.
The Academy line-up of Amelie Morgan, Zoe Simmons, Phoebe Jakubczyk, Amelia Knight and Alice Sumners combined to score a team total of 156.100 points to comfortably win the senior team squad category from Notts Gymnastics Academy (148.250) and Park Wrekin GC (147.600).
The junior team (squad) title went to Clwb Cymru with the silver medal going to South Durham.
The non-squad competitions were very hotly contested. Thirteen clubs battled for the senior crown with the City of Glasgow coming out on top with a score of 141.100 points ahead of City of Newcastle (138.250 points) in silver and Leatherhead and Dorking (138.100 points) in bronze.
Huntingdon Olympic took the junior non squad title with 141.000 points, followed by The Academy (137.450) and Park Wrekin (136.850) ; an incredible 22 clubs competed in this event.
