GB’s junior and senior aerobic groups have both impressed at the 2019 European Championships in Baku, finishing 6th and 8th respectively.
The senior group of Renee Augier, Kate Donnelly, Niamh Keane, Isidora Vucecivic and Rhys Williams successfully made it through to the final with a score of 19.172 before bettering their score in the final (19.272) to finish 8th.
Kate and Niamh also competed in the individual competition with little to separate the two GB gymnasts. Kate scored 18.800 for her high-energy routine to take 20th, with Niamh scoring 18.750 for 21st.
Alisha Bartlett, Holly Goodey, Anya Donnelly, Katie Guinn and Mia Peverall made up the junior group as they showed that there is a bright future for aerobic gymnastics in Britain. Having qualified in 5th place, scoring 18.000, the group scored 18.550 in the final for 6th overall.
In the junior women’s individual competition, Katie performed well to score 19.300 for 14th, with Mia also impressing for a 19th place finish with 19.000. Alisha, Holly and Teagan Bendall also competed as a trio, scoring 17.500 for 20th.
