Two of our junior rhythmic gymnasts have produced encouraging performances at the first Junior Rhythmic World Championships in Russia.

Going up against some of the power nations of rhythmic gymnastics, including hosts Russia who dominated the weekend, British gymnasts Elizabeth Popova (ball and ribbon) and Saffron Severn (rope and clubs) both competed in qualification.

In ribbon qualification Elizabeth impressed to finish in 22nd place, scoring 13.700, and in ball qualification she finished in 34th with a score of 14.050.

Saffron also scored well, with 13.300 for 28th place in rope qualification and 13.650 in clubs qualification to finish in 38th place.
