Registration is now open for EuroGym 2020, taking place in Reykjavik, Iceland from 12th – 16th July 2020.
EuroGym is one of the biggest international gymnastic festivals, taking place every two years, welcoming young gymnasts from across Europe. The event is non-competitive and is an opportunity for gymnasts to perform team display routines on an international stage.
The event is specifically targeted and tailored for gymnasts aged 12 – 18 years-old, part of teams of 6 or more.
As well as performing, the week is an opportunity for young gymnasts to see other countries interpretations and join in workshops and parties, celebrating non-competitive gymnastics.
Over 4,100 gymnasts from 20 countries descended on the city of Liege for the last Euro Gym in Belgium in 2018 and more are expected to turn out in Reykjavik next year.
Last month 800 gymnasts from 30 British Gymnastics clubs took part in World Gymnaestrada in Dornbirn, Austria, another international festival like EuroGym, celebrating the different forms of gymnastics from across the world.
Commenting on the festival experience, Gemma Nichol from Inspired Gymnastics Academy said; “It was amazing! It’s certainly something we will be looking to do again.
“It’s difficult to describe how much fun it is but the kids have had an amazing time. They loved being there, wearing the GB kit and being part of a bigger team.”
