British Tumblers dominate in Bulgaria

The young British Tumbling teams took every single medal available to them in the age-group events at the Sofia Cup in Bulgaria.

The girls took the lion’s share of the medals. In the Under-12’s Jemma Saunders took Gold with Rachel Davies in Silver and Matilda Hamilton in Bronze. GB dominated the Under-14s as they took the top four positions; Charlotte Caunt won Gold, Jodi Clark, Silver and Chloe Tindale, Bronze with Kelly Bowes in 4th. In the Under-18’s Amii Schofield also took Gold.

On the boy’s side, Anthony Colder took the Under-12 Gold with Greg Townley and Steven Gilmore taking the top two podium places in the Under 14.

In the World Cup competition, Zara Mclean finished her first senior 2009 World Cup series event in an impressive 6th position. At the same event, British Synchronized Trampoline gymnasts Katherine Driscoll and Cara Jamieson combined to finish in 5th position, another great result, especially for a new pairing with Cara making her World Cup debut.
