This month, we are shining the spotlight on Aspire Gymnastics Club, who ran their Gymnastics for All floor and vault competitions for the second time this summer. 18 Young Leaders helped throughout the week with a total of 5 competitions taking place, based on the KeySteps routines.
It’s safe to say that the Young Leaders ran the show, showing great confidence in event delivery. Some of the Leaders are just 11 years-old but they were not phased buddying up as team leaders, making sure that all of the recreational gymnasts had a great time from start to finish.
Throughout the week, the leaders also delivered a GymChallenge section of the competitions, making sure gymnasts involved were engaged and active all of the time. The leaders picked which challenges to include and were responsible for setting up the stations, demonstrating the exercise and scoring the teams.
To add to all of these amazing achievements, four of the Young Leaders are now qualified judges, one is a qualified Level 1 general gymnastics coach and four more are enrolled on Level 1 courses.
The competitions this summer wouldn’t have happened without the Young Leaders and with over 200 gymnasts taking part, the committee of Aspire are super proud of them all.
We want to say a big well done to all the Young Leaders who gave up their time this summer to help run these fantastic events. We hope that you all had positive experiences and learnt more about the gymnastics environment. Keep working hard!
