A young British Gymnastics and Welsh Gymnastics member has been shortlisted for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.
Bethany Paull, 18, from Gwent in Wales, trains at Valley Gymnastics Academy and has had a very successful year.
In March, Bethany was part of the British team who brought home 58 medals from the Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Bethany herself won three golds and two silvers in the Level 3 Artistic Gymnastics competition. In October, Bethany was crowned overall British Champion in one of the Women’s Senior competitions at the Disability Artistic British Championships at New College, Leicester.
Commenting on her nomination, Kay Parfit, Bethany’s carer said: "We as a family are extremely proud of what Bethany has achieved and we would like to acknowledge the coaches at Valley Gymnastics Academy who have helped her on her journey."
As well as being a successful competitor, Bethany is also a Young Leader at her club.
The winner of the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year will be announced at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards on Sunday 24th November and they will go on to attend BBC Sports Personality of the Year in Aberdeen on Sunday 15th December.
