Britain’s senior men’s pair of Sam Large and Sammi Nassman from Heathrow have won gold at the Acrobatic World Cup in Portugal.
Having successfully made it through qualifying, the pair produced a flawless routine in the final, to score 29.700, more than 1.500 marks ahead of the rest of the field.
The routine, packed full of difficulty, was competed with high execution to make sure they stood at the top of the podium.
Also competing for the British team were new senior mixed pair, Dylan Howells and Nyree Williams from King Edmund, who gained more valuable experience ahead of the World Championships later this year. The duo scored 27.940 to finish in fifth place.
The men’s group of Kieran Holbrook, Max Crawford, Andrew Morris-Hunt and Cameron Patrick-Lothian from Spelthorne were involved in a highly competitive final and were unfortunate not to medal. The quartet finished in fourth place with a score of 28.350, less than 0.200 of a mark from the podium.
