What to do if Covid-19 affects you or your gymnastics club

To help combat fears around Covid-19 and transmission of the virus, we have created some guidance for those in England on what to do if someone is displaying symptoms, what to do if the outcome of a Covid-19 test is positive or negative and how to identify those who are ‘contacts’ and may have been in contact with someone with Covid-19.

What are the coronavirus symptoms?
Coronavirus symptoms include: a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste. If you have any of these, get a Covid-19 test and stay at home.

When do I need to self-isolate?
You must self-isolate immediately if:

  • you have any symptoms of coronavirus
  • you've tested positive for coronavirus
  • you live with someone who has symptoms or tested positive
  • someone in your support bubble has symptoms or tested positive
  • you're told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace
  • you arrive in the UK from a country with a high coronavirus risk

How long do I need to self-isolate for?
If you have symptoms or have tested positive for coronavirus, you'll usually need to self-isolate for at least 10 days.

You'll usually need to self-isolate for 14 days if:

  • someone you live with has symptoms or tested positive
  • someone in your support bubble has symptoms or tested positive
  • you've been told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace
